Where do you want to wake up tomorrow?

The Colonized Milky Way - Tradestandard Date 4664

Let's tour the Tarthian Empire, shall we? Where to go first... How about we start with an overall look at the galaxy and see where we are? Click on the Milky Way picture and you'll notice the Tarthian Empire appears near the bottom. The Terran Crescent (home of the legendary planet Earth) is at the top. The Colonies of Man lie between the two, and the outskirts on either side are inhabited by various independent groups of worlds. Caution -- slavers operate in these areas. Tours taken in these zones are under armed guard and in pleasure ships outfitted as fully laden battle-cruisers, for your protection.

Tarth City, Tarth - The Nizamrak Building

One of the stops you can't miss is Tarth, the capitol world of the Empire. Tarth City is roughly the size of Terra's New York City, plus Chicago, plus Los Angeles, plus a few minor cities all tied together. In the middle of the city is Tarth City Park, a tradestandard-mile-wide swath of green grass, trees, and the Typhin River meandering peacefully through it all. It runs the length of the city, bisecting it neatly. In the center is Destine Pietan Stadium, and on the East side is the Imperial Business District, home of the tallest building on the planet, the Nizamrak Building. Home to none other than Luc Saint-Cyr, its blunt, square sides rise over two-hundred stories above the ground, and has a full six stories below, including a tube train station that intersects in four directions at one time. Employees of the various companies the building holds are housed there. Among the best known are Lucsondis Enterprises, For Women Only, idBot, CyberEgo, TicketBot, Hire-A-Kin, and the Bank of Tarth. While on Tarth, be sure to tour the Conqueror's palace and see the changing of the guard. This has taken place without interruption every four hours around the clock since she took command on Birit 25, 4645 (tradestandard date). Current tradestandard date is Sofftem 48, 4664, making this event an ongoing tradition for nineteen and a half years.

Kyrenie Firestorm - Raging Glory

Of the twenty-two worlds currently in the empire, one of the most spectacular sites to visit is Kyrenie, home of firestorms. These instantaneous orbs of lightning melt sand and fuse it into fire crystal, a substance far more valuable than diamonds. A new technology makes use of ancient methods of capturing light by recording it on wafers of the crystals themselves. The first ever image of a firestorm is shown below.
