Publisher Week Day 3: Anaiah Press Takes Pride in Publicity @anaiahpress #RLFblog #inspy

One thing that makes Anaiah Press special is that we offer publicity support to its authors. Not all small presses have a publicity department and Anaiah prides itself in offering PR services in a variety of ways.

Why does Anaiah provide publicity? We know how important publicity is for our books and our authors! Writing a great story and working with an editor is step one. It takes more than that to sell a book. Thousands of books are released each day and it is our job to make Anaiah's books visible to the world. Even better, since we are a small press, we can give undivided attention that our atuhors and book deserves.
We have dedicated publicists as well as two managers to handle the Marketing and Public Relations Department. Our PR staff has committed themselves to know the market our authors and books need. We have already spent months shaping our program and aim to improve our efforts along the way.
When an author signs with Anaiah Press, we immediately assign a publicist and start our job of getting to know the author. We send out a publicity questionnaire, in addition to other forms the editor provides, to fine-tune the details needed to create the best publicity for the author and book. Once we receive feedback from the author, we turn our attention to creating a marketing campaign. Our campaign consists of a press release, official blurb, cover reveal, trailer reveal, teaser reveal, reviewers, blog tour and live book tours. It is the publicist's job to tailor our outreach to bloggers and media who specialize in the book's genre, book's topic or interests. This is an ongoing process which includes hours and months of dedication.
We take pride in our blog tours and plan them with heart and soul. Blog tours last four weeks and include spotlights, guest posts, interviews and reviews. We have a special relationship with many bloggers, be it young adult readers, adult romance readers or nonfiction writers. We have a bit of everything at Anaiah, and there's always room for more!

In addition to working with the author on publicity, management is responsible for creating unique book trailers. We work closely with the author and editor to generate unforgettable trailers so that readers will want to buy the book or learn more about Anaiah Press. This is one tool we use to gain readership and share the enthusiasm for upcoming releases.
One of our favorite steps in marketing our books is our creative outlets of activities catered toward each individual book. We have a few events in the planning stages for our July/August releases. Take a look at these:

Lastly, we are very active on social media sites. We interact with readers, writers, editors, agents from all parts of the world. Sometimes we even hold special pitch parties, like our Facebook Friday Pitch Fest, held every last Friday of the month.

Our PR Department is an enthusiastic bunch, ready to help our authors strive. Even after books have been released, we will continue to walk side-by-side with the authors to promote their books. It doesn't end on release day. We're here to stay!

    I have watched some of my fellow authors at Anaiah Press gear up for their summer book releases and I think Anaiah does a fabulous job at introducing their lineup of books to the world. I can't wait to see what they will do with my debut picture book, THE STORY CATCHER, when it comes out next January.

    I'm the "launch author" for Anaiah Press, and I have been blown away by the publicity campaign that has been mounted for my memoir, A Long and Winding Road: A Caregiver's Tale of Life, Love, and Chaos. Many of my author friends have signed with small presses, and none have received the kind of attention I have received at Anaiah.
