Scandal’s Splendor a new #Regency by @Collette_Author #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

About the Author

A bestselling, award-winning author, Collette Cameron pens Scottish and Regency historicals featuring rogues, rapscallions, rakes, and the intelligent, intrepid damsels who reform them.
Blessed with three spectacular children, fantastic fans, and a compulsive, over-active, and witty Muse who won’t stop whispering new romantic romps in her ear, she lives in Oregon with her mini-dachshunds, though she dreams of living in Scotland part-time.
Admitting to a quirky sense of humor, Collette enjoys inspiring quotes, adores castles and anything cobalt blue, and is a self-confessed Cadbury chocoholic. You'll always find dogs, birds, occasionally naughty humor, and a dash of inspiration in her sweet-to-spicy timeless romances.

Interview with Collette Camero

Why did you write this book?
Scandal's Splendor is the 4th book in my Highland Heather Romancing a Scot series and it features Seonaid Ferguson.
She’s the youngest Ferguson sister and has waited patiently while twelve other books were written to finally have her story told. She made it clear, she wasn’t going to wait any longer.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I adore historical romance, particularly Scottish, Regency, Victoria, and Medieval, though I’ll read just about any sub-genre.
I started reading Regencies when I was thirteen!
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Only one?
Hmm, I’m still a bit dreamy-eyed over the Count of Monte Cristo.
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I’m working on a Highlander novella for a group project and as soon as it’s finished will dive into another novella for another project.
Brette: Intentions Gone Astray, my third Conundrums of the Misses Culpeppers releases January 10, 2017, and Passion and Plunder, the fifth book in the Highland Heather Romancing a Scot series is scheduled to release in the spring of 2017.
Expect another A Waltz with a Rogue Novella soon too.
Please tell us about your latest book.
A determined Scottish lady
Seonaid Ferguson, a lady of Craiglocky Keep, is through with London’s Marriage Mart. After learning she has the second sight, the haut ton attempts to exploit her abilities. Even though it means she condemns herself to spinsterhood, Seonaid sets a desperate course to rid herself of her gift turned curse. As she rushes home from England, a snowstorm strands her in a crowded inn with the last man she ever wished to see again. A handsome French baron who once thought her a courtesan. And just her misfortune, only he stands between her and certain harm.
An honorable French nobleman
Jacques, Monsieur le baron de Devaux-Rousset, ventures to Scotland to oversee his new investment;  a silver mine near Craiglocky. Only a handsome profit will save his family's destitute estate in France. But when the mine is beset with one problem after another, Jacques must instead search for an heiress to wed. He certainly should not be falling in love with the lovely, spirited sister of Laird Ewan MacTavish, a lass whose dowry is insufficient to restore his ancestral home. Nor should he consider, even for a moment, her risqué, but deliciously tempting scheme to rid her of the second sight.
A danger most dire
Matters are torn from their hands when a dangerous adversary vows to expose Seonaid as a witch, just as Jacques's  problems at the mine escalate into deadly violence. Is it by chance, or a dark design, that both of them are beset at once …? Dare Jacques and Seonaid throw caution aside and forge a future together?

  6. Hi Collette! Thank you for another great read! What inspires you, how/where do you get your ideas? And I need to ask you about your favourite female characters in literature, because I love your females characters - and the men as well. Any favourite heroes?

    1. Hi Mo! I get ideas from just about everything, and when I do, I've learned to quickly write them down or I'll forget them!

I have a lot of male and female characters I admire, many of who aren't widely known. Multi-faceted characters are my favorite, but I'm not a huge fan of dark characters.
